Quadrat d'Or is found right in the centre of Eixample district, very close to Passeig de Gràcia. This was the main street of the new Eixample district, built in the end of the 19th century when the walls of the old town were demolished.
Built with private investments from wealthy families, the buildings of Quadrat d'Or are nowadays the evidence of the aesthetic competition held by the bourgeoisie during the development of this area.
Modernist façades can be found while strolling through the streets of Quadrat d'Or. The Neo-Gothic and floral elements as well as the stained glass windows of the façades display a noticeable Modernist style from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
